In an article posted on December 28, 2013, Charlotte Silver connected the findings of the Framingham Heart Study, a long-term cardiovascular study, to the findings of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, a long-term study that relates chronic, continuous hyperarousal due to trauma to compromised immune system functioning and multiple adverse health outcomes, which together yield the disturbing affirmative answer to the question Silver posed.
